I have been a patient of Dr. Chen
Qiang, who is an acupuncturist at the Gulf American Clinic
located at Jumeirah, Dubai, for the past six years. My
experience has shown that Dr. Chen is an excellent doctor
and is a specialist in his field. His diagnosis is very
accurate and I have always been happy with his treatments,
which have constantly given good results. In addition
to being good at his job he also plays the role of a psychologist
as he listens and understands his patients problems before
attempting to provide his services. As a result of his
patience I have never felt as though I am rushed during
my visits. He has always been a very dependable doctor.
In conclusion, I have come to see him less as a doctor
and more as a family friend.

Chen is a marvel! I had consulted
him on two separate occasions, both times with menopausal
symptoms. I had made the decision long while ago not to
resort to HRT, thinking my symptoms wouldn’t be
that bad as I had a balanced diet, and always exercised
regularly – how wrong I was!
The first time I was getting hot flushes and disrupted
sleep patterns and feeling absolutely exhausted all the
time. After a week of Dr Chen’s treatment which
consisted of drinking a herbal mixture twice a day before
meals, as well as acupuncture, my symptoms almost disappeared.
I followed this with yoga twice a week. After a month
I felt great and the hot flashes completely disappeared.
On the second occasion, some 10 months later, I had other
symptoms which were much more sever, I was getting mood
swings, depression, breast soreness, bloating, ringing
in my ears, nausea and uncontrollable hunger. Again, after
Dr Chen's treatment my symptoms completely disappeared.
At the moment I'm on a maintenance programme where I visit
for acupuncture every three weeks to maintain my well
being.
Thanks to Dr Chen I feel can manage my menopause naturally
without resorting to drugs/remedies which may be detrimental
to my health in the long term.

After battling for almost 4 years
with infertilty, 5 failed insemination cycles and one
miscarriage, I had totally lost hope that I could ever
fall pregnant.I was not a classic case of PCOS, I was
ovulating normally, open fallopian tubes, and a normal
hormonal profile.But still at the age of 30 and 4 years
of trying I couldn't concieve.My husband also had a normal
sperm count.
I just stumbled across a website and found out about
Dr.Chen. I gave him a call and fixed up an appointment.
I was too tired of taking injections and going for ultrasounds
all these months in my effort to achieve a pregnancy;
so I wanted to give this method of treatment a chance.
On my first appopintment , without even going through
my medical records, just by presing a few points in my
body he told me that my hormonal profile was fine. Its
just that I was too stressed out after years of infertilty.
I took treatment for 3 months, a total of 12 sessions
over this period of time. In addition to the sessions
he gave me a few herbs.
I certainly felt much better when I took those sessions,
my sleep pattern improved I felt less leathrgic. Three
months after taking the treatment I CONCIEVED ALL ON MY
OWN...at the most weird time of my cycle(my doctor always
had problems in dating my pregnancy). It was totally unexpected
and I give Dr.Chen and the acupunture sessions a lot of
credit of making this happene for me.
I would certainly recommend people suffering from infertilty
to go ahead and try acupunture. It certainly helped me
and my 4 month old son is now a living proof that acupunture
really works.

I smoked 40 cigarettes a day for
30 years. I had tried hypnosis, patches gum with some
success but always had gone back to smoking. On 11th October
2005 I went to see Dr. Chen. I had two (2) treatments
from Dr. Chen in few days and then I left on a trip abroad.
I have not smoked a cigarette since 11th October 2005.
Dr. Chen told me that he could not stop me wanting cigarettes
but if I normally craved 40 times a day he could reduce
that cravings to 5 times a day. The rest was up to me.
He said that after 5 days the cravings would have almost
disappeared and after 1 month I would have no cravings.
He was right. I am now enjoying the benefits of being
a non smoker for 1 year. I am not annoyed by the presence
of smokers or smoke I am delighted that thanks to Dr.
Chen I am free from addiction.

During September 2006 I was struck
down with an extremely painful attack of arthritis in
my right foot. My western doctor, while sympathetic, was
only able to offer extremely powerful painkillers which
dulled the pain but left me feeling unwell and out of
sorts.
I was told about Dr. Chen by a friend and decided to
embark upon a course of treatment. I felt I had nothing
to lose. My foot was swollen, putting on my shoe was torture
and every step I took was agony. I desperately needed
some relief.
I did not notice any lessening of the pain after the
first, second or third visit. What I did notice though,
was that somehow I felt better in myself. I was sleeping
more soundly and despite the arthritis, I felt more optimistic
about life in general. Dr Chen had diagnosed a blocked
spleen and he was treating that condition. I carried on
with the treatments and slowly the swelling subsided and
the pain eased. Within a month, the arthritis had gone.
I am still continuing with the acupuncture treatments
because I am finding that my health continues to improve.
I feel more confident, more energetic and far less stressed.
I believe these changes are entirely due to Dr, Chen's
skilful application of acupuncture.

During the last five years
I have seen 4 different gastroenteroligists both in Dubai
and the United States. A solution to my chronic Irritable
Bowel Syndrome and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome had not been
found or addressed ever in an wholistic manner. After
struggling for so long, I decided to try acupunture with
Dr. Chen on very good recommendations. I can honestly
say, I really didn't expect much but my improvement has
been amazing. He has helped me look at my life and my
approach to stress in a new light while all the time feeling
better and better. I never thought I could feel so much
better for as many days in a row as I have. When I have
small relaspes they are shorter and my body is able to
get back on track easier with the correct measures. I
am now a true believer in acupunture.

I recently had to go into hospital
for a back operation to have part of a bulging disc removed.
The bulging disc was causing severe back pain, leg pain
and numbness of the ankle/foot.
After the operation, the back pain had gone and with
that mobility had returned to my back, however, I still
had leg pain and numbness. After several weeks of taking
various drugs to reduce the leg pain / numbness, conclusion
was that they were not having any effect or improvement
in my condition.
It was at this point I decided to try acupuncture as
a form of treatment after a recommendation from a friend
who had similar symptoms which were successfully treated
by acupuncture.
At the initial consultation, all my problems / symptoms
were relayed to the Doctor (Doctor Chen), and what struck
me during this first treatment was Doctor Chen would find
several sore / tender spots on my body which were nowhere
near the painful leg / foot, and at each of these sore
points would insert a needle, so that none of needles
were inserted at any point on my painful leg / foot.
I must say at this point also, that insertion of the
needles is not painful, but that you may feel some sensation
when the needles are twisted. The day after the first
treatment, I felt a definite reduction of pain in my leg;
I was quite amazed at this, something that all the drugs
could not do.
I have now had approx. six treatments for the pain /
numbness, each treatment focusing on a certain area where
I was experiencing pain. Each treatment has been different
in that the needles have been inserted on different areas
of my body each time, and again, the day after each treatment
there was a noticeable improvement in my condition, to
the point where I am now, where the numbness is gone,
the leg pain is gone, and only now trying to reduce the
weakness in my ankle.
To be honest I have been totally amazed by the acupuncture
treatment, the knowledge of the Doctor, the speed of recovery,
I never thought I could feel this good after just three
weeks. It has been a very interesting & educating
experience the little information I have found out so
far about this form of treatment.
To anyone who has a condition treatable by acupuncture,
I would definitely recommend this form of treatment; I
only have positive things to say about it due to my experience.
